Biography


Christine Wang is a 23-year old Taiwanese-Australian violinist currently in her Masters degree with Professor Kathleen Winkler at Shepherd School of Music under the Dorothy Richard Starling Foundation Scholarship.

Christine has attended various festivals including Beijing International Music Festival and Academy, Music Academy of the West and played in various seasons with the Australian Youth Orchestra, National Music Camp and Young Symphonists in Australia. She took third prize in the South East Queensland Aria and Concerto Competition in 2008 and was a finalist in the 2006 National Youth Concerto Competition. Prior to this, Christine received String Section Bursary at the Queensland Youth Music Awards and was winner of the Intermediate Championships at the Brisbane Eisteddfod. 

Her teachers have included Simon Dobrenko, Michele Walsh, Leo Wigdorchik and Oleh Krysa.
